December (Wha? Already?) 2

These early mornings are killing me. Just softly, though. I really can't complain too much.
The alarm went off this morning and I pretended I was asleep as the Mr. got right out of bed and into his new routine. The bed was so warm and I was so tired I really, really did not want to get up. I gave myself five, ok, ten more minutes and then slowly eased my way into the morning. A very cold morning, I might add. About 26 degrees outside and the car was covered in a thin sheet of ice, as we discovered later when we got in it to go to school. Ugh. The girls arrived and we commenced with the hair brushing and what would you girls like for breakfast this morning? I asked. This morning it was french toast...again. They seem to like the french toast. Today we added sausage and Claire asked me if she could have a little piece of Thanksgiving cake. Of course I said yes. I brought her a tiny slice just as she finished off her two pieces of fr, toast and three sausages. She ate the cake and then I literally saw her push her plate away and back from the table as if she had eaten a three course meal, which she pretty much had. She had the look on her face of someone who is stuffed to the gills. Both of the girls were greatly excited about the new Christmas decorations and rearrangements of the furniture in the coffee lounge. Claire had told me last time she was over that it was time to change the kitchen  to Christmas. And who was I to argue with her? So I got some pink Christmas valances that say Merry Christmas, with gingerbread houses to go above the pink polka dot curtains, moved the sofa to the opposite wall so we would have room for the pink Christmas tree, and dug out the Christmas pillows to throw on the couch. I also got some green glass knobs for the cabinets and put them all in yesterday. I really didn't want to remove all the pink in the pink kitchen, so I made the executive decision to have a pink and green Christmas, which they are fully in favor of. Arya came down before everyone else after getting her hair brushed and was so excited to tell me that she had plugged the tree in for me, and was I proud of her? Of course I am! I told her. Claire informed me that our resident ant, who lives next to Bobble head Jack, needs a Santa hat. Who was I to argue with her? What a great idea! I said and you better believe I spent the better part of an hour today, trying to find a miniature hat for that ant to wear, cause who doesn't need an ant with a Santa hat?

The Mr. wasn't feeling well, so it was just the two of them and "Baby Grandma" on the way to school this morning. Arya piped up from the back seat Eat your broooocoli! Baby Grandma, it's chocolate covered Broccoli! Where do they come up with this stuff? We were almost late. In fact we have never been that late before. There were no cars before or after me and the teachers were all standing around chatting. I was relieved that we made it, because Katie told me that at 739 they close up shop. Then you have to get out and go to the front through the office. But we got there on time and then I came home and crashed. I was listening to a sermon about Paul preaching all night, and how a young lad fell out of the window and died. Paul came down and prayed and he came back to life. The preacher said jokingly, of course, word of warning, don't fall asleep during the preaching! Those were the last words I remember before I passed out cold. I was gone. Might've even snored.
So later we went over to Walmart for a couple of things which we never found, but somehow came out with 90 bucks worth of other stuff, and then we came home and got ready for Arya's Christmas Choir Concert. (Real people, not toilet paper people).
She is the tallest girl in the class, so she was on the top row, first one in, completely opposite of where we were sitting of course, and when the teacher began to direct I saw that I wouldn't be able to record much, because she was right in between Arya and me.
When they were all done Arya came down and asked me if I was proud of her again and if I had made a video. Yes, of course I am proud of you, and yes, I took a video. Her next question stopped me in my tracks. Did you put it on the internet? Why yes, I did, I said. Maybe I'll be famous! She said with a big smile. I had to tell her then that "on the internet" meant her great grandmother and great aunts. Not You Tube. She is getting smart faster than I like.
Back home I saw that the package I ordered for my friend's birthday had come in. I was very excited about this. I hadn't know what to get her and then an ad popped up on my screen for something called The Interlinear Bible. I was intrigued. It looked like something she would love. It looked like something I would love. It was a Bible in Hebrew, Greek, and English. I wondered how it would differ from what we already study, the Strong's Concordance and the Jewish Bible, as well as several translations of the English Bible.
So I opened the package, and for one thing, the book was huge. Much larger than I had anticipated, and heavy. Then I opened it and my mind blew. And I knew I would have to send it back. This was going to be over both of our heads. Neither of us would be able to make any sense of this. Because this is what I saw.

I showed it to the Mr. and he freaked out. This is AMAZING! He said. He almost shouted. You have to keep this book. I said Why? She isn't going to make sense of this and it was expensive. I think I will send it back. You do what you want, he said, but this is COOOL!
So I did the cancellation on Amazon and then I called my friend and told her about it. I said I messed up your birthday present. And then I sent her a screenshot. And then her mind was blown. I looked at my screenshot and blew it up and then my mind was blown for a second time. Because I could see what I hadn't been able to see, since I wasn't wearing my glasses. That what I thought was just Hebrew, and unreadable to me had the English word directly from the Hebrew below in tiny letters. As well as written in English off to the side.

This book is COOOOOL! I said, and she agreed! She loved it! (Greek, too? She asked? YEP! So I cancelled the cancellation, and now I am going to order one for myself for Christmas. I told her that reading the words directly from the Hebrew, to me, felt like I was reading from the Dead Sea Scrolls. It is that exciting.
So she is keeping it, and excited to have it, and I am excited that I will have my own copy, come Christmas. And now I must go to bed. I have spent way too long perusing the internet for tiny Santa hats today and six AM comes early.
