I have recently become aware of just how much I complain. It seems an appropriate time to think about some of the things I am thankful for.
1. My family. That's probably number one on most people's lists. It doesn't need too much elaborating, but I will anyway. This includes my husband, kids, both living parents and step parents, my auntie, my other aunts and uncles, cousins,my little brother, nieces and nephews and my sisters who are also my friends. Oh and my one remaining grandmother, whom I love dearly, but doesn't remember who I am.
2. My best friend of *muffled number* years. Again. I don't have to elaborate. She's the best. Actually I should have put her up there with family, but I forgot for a moment that she is family now. (see blog title BFF and BFF 2 in case you're wondering)
3. My home. I took on a mammoth reno project when buying this home. Today seems to be one of the days I love it more than I hate it.
4. My dog. There is no other like him.
5. My health. Maybe my health should come before my dog. Nah.
6. My daughter's teacher and her principal. They have done so much to help my daughter this year that I am continually amazed by their kindness. They have gone far beyond just doing their respective jobs. I wish there were more like them.
7. My next door neighbor. The man is and angel. He's about seventy or eighty and is always on the go. He helps me maintain my lawnmower and sometimes will take his riding mower around my yard to help me out. He helped me build a really cool gate to keep my dog in. A couple of times he brought my trashcans back. A couple of times he brought my dog back. He helped us figure out that our hot tub really works after five years of thinking it didn't because of two crooked hot tub specialists who wanted us to pay 1000 dollars for pumps that were already installed. (He showed us where they were located on the tub and where to turn on the power in our own house-we didn't even know ourselves but he was there when it was put in)
He is always friendly and waves when we pass. He is one of things that makes living here worthwhile.
Now for the less important.
8. Baseball. I live for it. I even have my own "rally cap".
9. My water heater. For some inexplicable reason it stopped leaking, therefore giving me time to save up enough to buy a new one.
10. Sunny days. I think I have SAD disorder. I wake up in a bad mood every time it rains. My husband of almost seventeen years says he always thought that was a bunch of boloney until he married me. Now he is a believer. If the sun is shining I'm happy. If it's raining I might as well stay in bed 'cause it's going to be a bad day.
11. chocolate. P-M-S and rainy days (and Mondays) Need I say more?!!
