Oof. Overslept. By a lot! Must have been exhausted from yesterday's adventures, because after a brief foray into the reality world of wake up at five thirty AM, I fell asleep and didn't get up until after TEN! Too late for church. Too late to get the girls. So we turned on the TV pastor we always follow when we can't get there, instead. And it was OK. Well it would be OK if we hadn't missed last week, due to the Mr. feeling yucky, and if we weren't possibly going to miss next Sunday if we end up at Dad's...Unlike the previous church I was attending, in which I had to literally force myself to go, this one is different. For one thing I used to go there for a long time, and I know a lot of the people, and they know me. Plus they have a great children's program and I LOVE the girls' teacher. ]
So we bummed around the house all day. The sun went behind the clouds after initially peeping out and pretending we were going to have a Spring-like day, so bumming around was exactly what was called for.
I did some mundane things, laundry, vacuuming, cleaning the office, but I was so tired that I could barely stay awake. I guess the theme of today is going to be sleep. I have been watching a newly discovered You Tube series called Baumgartner Restoration, and although it is no "Repair Shop" it is still pretty good. The man specializes in restoring paintings, specifically ones that have been butchered by so called "conservators" and some of the results are quite spectacular. The whole show is very technical, though, sometimes hard to follow exactly why he is doing whatever it is he is doing. I'm all eyes, though, as he begins to clean the paintings and the secrets begin to be revealed. I was watching one of these on the office computer, and as captivating as it was, I found myself dozing off while sitting up in the chair. So I took myself into the other room and napped and watched and napped and watched. The day slipped by and then the Mr. decided that I didn't need to cook and treated us to chicken Pad Thai and California Rolls for dinner. I got a call from Jeffrey that he needs us to keep the girls awhile again tomorrow, as he and I both thought they went back to school in the morning, and he made himself a doctor's appointment. So the girls will be here at the crack of dawn and I'm sure we will be cooking up some eggs and waffles. Not sure how long they will be here, but I guess after they leave I need to start the cooking I didn't do today. It won't be difficult. They requested mostly processed food, very little fresh. Things like Kraft Mac N Cheese. (The FAT noodles, not the skinny ones!) some precooked rice and mashed potatoes. I think I will make some homemade salisbury steak, though, and those sausage balls. I had best not forget the sausage balls. And canned vegetables. That should keep them for awhile, along with some frozen things, like waffles and premade sausage biscuits. Easy things, since neither can stand long enough to cook.
So that was my day. We have a squirrel making a nest in the rafter above the office, not in the house, just inside the gable. We have to figure out how to get her out before she has babies. She is way up there at the peak of the roof, so we can't reach her with water hose or ladder and she knows it. This should make for some interesting adventures.
And now for...zzzzzz...
