I have to take a moment to brag on Sam, here. I don't know why he decided that was a good resting place, but after I took his pic and them removed him from the flowers, I told him "no". He got the message. He has not bothered those flowers since. He really is a good dog. And this picture is just priceless.
I have a very similar photo of Ellie. She just LOVED the Indian Hawthorne shrubs. We finally put a fence BEHIND the shrubs and put a stone walkway for the dogs so that she could lie down in back and still be cool.
